15- A quest for resource: efficient enforcement through innovation
How budget is allocated to carry out core activities and how much is needed to do so effectively has always been a hot topic of conversation. While authorities are equipping themselves with innovative tools to make their enforcement actions more effective, there are still discrepancies in resources that member states dedicate to their agencies.
This panel will aim to tackle this quest for resource in a new light: by reframing it to explore whether additional and innovative tools and approaches can really help in practice to develop the full potential of supervisory authorities, also in tackling budgetary challenges. Have they eased the burden on resource expenditure? Or are classical oversight approaches are always better? And how can this gap between different authorities be supported and supplemented by oversight at a European level?
